Essentials of Blocking with Barbara Benson
December 19, 2021 1-4pm Central Standard Time
This is a virtual class. Zoom link will be emailed on December 17.
Barbara Benson is the designer of one of our favorite go-to patterns A Good Scarf. We are so happy to have her again as a guest instructor to teach us about the essentials of blocking. This class is perfect for all knitters regardless of experience.
When do you start thinking about blocking your knitting? Well, you should be thinking about it when you are selecting the yarn for your pattern. The secret to making sure your finished product looks as perfect as it can is blocking. This class will cover wet blocking in depth. We will discuss different fiber contents and how they behave. How to approach different project types, and different approaches that need to be used for various fabric characteristics. Also included is a review of the tools (both traditional and non) needed for wet blocking and how to use them.
I enjoyed this class so much I took it twice! AND I learned something both times. Helpful in choosing/planning fibers for a project, not just finishing.
