Thursday afternoons: 12:30 - 2:00pm May 13, 20 and 27

Instructor: Liz Daly

I love lace knitting! If you missed part 1 don't worry you can join us for part 2. I will show you my tips on how to read your stitches to stay on pattern.  You will learn how to read charts, how to read your knitting and how to knit lace step by step.  This lace class will be in 3 parts based on the book Building With Lace by Michelle Hunter.  Each meeting we will learn a new pattern and practice on worsted weight stash yarn.  We will go over Section #4 Lace and Cables, Section #5 Beads and Section #6 Smocking stitch.

I will also guide you on how to knit the beautiful shawl that is in the book.  The Mad Hatter yarn we have stocked in the store would be absolutely perfect for this project.

Materials: Stash worsted weight yarn and size US7 or US8 needle, cable needle, 3.7mm beads.  To make the shawl project I recommend Mad Hatter sport weight yarn and needle size to get gauge.  Purchase the Book Building With Lace by Michelle Hunter or download the book from Ravelry
