Description: Take your first foray into sock knitting with Tin Can Knits' Everyday Socks. this basic sock pattern is knit in the round with short or long cuffs, in sizes from baby to adult, and with your choice of three different yarn weights. Use your favorite method of knitting in the round (Magic Loop, double pointed needles, 9-inch circular or FlexiFlips)
Supplies:
- Purchase, download and have available the Everyday Socks Pattern by Tin Can Knits
- Yarn suggestions
- Worsted Weight - Rios or Misha and Puff
- DK Weight - Keenan DK or Sister Ananse DK
- Fingering Weight - Keenan BFL, Sister Ananse or Laneras Beartooth
- Correctly sized needles for your yarn weight
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
Homework:
- Knit a gauge swatch in the round with your chosen yarn and needles. Socks are typically knit at a tighter gauged than other garments.
- After you have found the right needle and yarn combination to get gauge, cast on for the size you would like to knit and knit the cuff (1-2 inches for a short sock and 4-6 inches for a longer sock)
- We are planning on starting at the heel flap and heel turn for the first class.
