Date(s): Monday September 9

Time: 7:00-8:30pm Central Time

Location: String Theory Yarn Company

Instructor: Emily

Description:  We're only a couple months out from an extremely consequential election - Your voter registration is up-to-date and you have a voting plan for election day. You are fired up and want to do all you can to help... But what unique talents can you, a knitter, bring to this important historical moment?

Enter Yarn Bombing*

Gather on September 9 with some of your knitting besties at String Theory to participate in the biggest election yarn bombing event in the area!

We'll be knitting up a simple pattern adapted by Lucy Dallman - A heart ornament embroidered with a simple-but-powerful message - Vote - and distributing them all around Dupage County's public spaces and beyond.

Other simple actions you can take to promote voting and democracy will be discussed (it will also be extremely fun)!

This is a free event but please BYON (bring your own needles - we recommend a size 7 or 8 straight or circular needles.

Yarn and pattern will be provided (but feel free to bring worsted or DK weight yarn from your stash, if you like!).

Let's GOTV!

Your yarn makes a positive impact

By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
