By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
Let's Get Started! Lindal projects with Ann Weaver
Dates: September 17
Time: 11am - 12:30pm Central Time
Instructor: Ann Weaver
Description: Join us as we explore the magical world of designer Ona Wöldten and her Lindal patterns, which use short rows to create cascading leafy motifs. Choose any Lindal pattern—headband, mittens, scarf, shawl, socks, or even a skirt! We'll cast on together and set up our short markers shaping during. Once you've started, you'll find it hard to stop knitting as the leaves take shape.
We'll also talk about how to manage ends—Ann has some suggestions for minimizing them.
Required skills for event: Familiarity with working with short rows.
Homework: Have your pattern purchased, yarn wound and be ready to knit.
