Newish Knitter KAL - An Italian Summer Scarf by an Italian Knitter

Date(s): July 2, 9 and 16

Time: 7:00-8:30pm-ish

Location: The comfort of your own location - this is a zoom class

Instructor: Liz Daly

Description:

Our Newish Knitter KAL is for knitters who have finished Knit101 and Knit 102 and are wondering what to knit next.  All of these patterns are great places to practice your stitches and learn how to read patterns.  This KAL is also for more experienced knitters who want to socialize with others while knitting a project where you can knit and chat at the same time.

Just the name of this pattern, an Italian Summer Scarf makes it the perfect July Newish Knitter KAL.  We can all pretend that we are planning for our summer in Italy while we knit this together.  This scarf/shawl is very light and drapey due to all of the eyelets. The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn but honestly many weights will work great.  This pattern is very versatile and we'll make some fiber recommendations down below but the final choice is up to you.   You can try a new sport - worsted weight yarn or choose one of your favorites from previous projects.

There is no charge for this virtual get-together, however, we ask that you purchase yarn from the store for this project.    When you purchase your yarn write in the comments section that you would like to be added to the KAL!   Don't worry if you can't make all of the sessions.  We'd love to have you when you can make it.

Supplies:

Homework: Have your yarn and needles ready.

Prerequisites: Be comfortable knitting and purling.

Your yarn makes a positive impact

By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
