Dream in Color

Dream in Color

I've known Nancy and Veronica, from Dream in Color for years. They started the Waldorf school that my kids attended. Our kids were in the same classes. We carpooled. We started yarn stores the same year. Remember Fringe?  Nancy and I were in the same bookclub. It seems our paths are meant to consistently cross.

So I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when I found myself driving cross country with my son Adam, so he could work at the Dream in Color studio while he figures out his next step. Turns out modeling is part of his gig.

While I was there, I took a moment to interview Veronica and Nancy for our Women Making History series.  I asked them to tell me more about their recent Diversity color collection. We've had it at String Theory in Classy, Dream in Color's round, bouncy, super-wash worsted.

The pullover that they show us is Splendid. I'm working on Granny's Favourite. (The yarn is worsted and the pattern calls for DK, so I'm using size 8 needles and making the smallest size.)

Stop by to see these yarns in person. They are all gorgeous!

Our Women Making History series would not be complete without a feature on Linda Wallace. Linda has had many roles at String Theory.  She has sold yarn, taught classes, wrote blog posts, created window displays and been an all-around champion of our mission. So when she told me that she wanted to dye yarn, I was immediately on board.
