ChiaoGoo — a name meaning "highly skillful and crafty lady" in Chinese — was founded in Hangzhou by four brothers whose grandfather was a bamboo craftsman in Linan, known as the Bamboo Capital of China. Their father built a workshop in the early 1980s making bamboo needles; US distribution launched in 2005. The RED Lace circulars — surgical stainless steel tips with memory-free, multi-strand red cables — are ChiaoGoo's signature product and our top-selling needle across every size.
