Shawl Pin

Turn your shawls into garments that are both fashionable and functional by adding a shawl pin.

The Coil shawl pin ring is closely based on a Hmong earring from the Golden Triangle which constitutes Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam.  For the Hmong, silversmithing is a male occupation but it represents women's wealth.  Silver is passed down from mother to daughter.  Daughters take their jewelry with them when they marry and it remains their exclusive property for their entire lives.  During festivals and ceremonies women adorn themselves so heavily in silver a woman's wealth can be discerned just by looking at her.  The spiral motifs in the coil stick and shawl pin are associated with infinite time, endless movement and boundless energy.

This beautiful Runa Penannular brooch was designed for knitwear as an alternative to two-piece shawl pins.  Runa is inspired by Norse designs that make liberal use of spiral motifs.  In addition, we love the shape of Norse helmets and used aspects of their form to create the stick portion of this pin.

The Mid-Century Modern Circle is a metal renderings of hand-drawn shape, representing the beauty and dynamism of imperfection and visualizing the handmade-ness of JUL knitwear jewelry.  This artisanal shape, that evokes the sleek lines of mid-century modern interior design, beautifully complements the elegant forms of contemporary shawls and garments of all kinds.

Full of motion and a dynamic sense of flow, the Waterfall shawl pin has organic visual motifs that will complement your knit and crochet wear beautifully.

Each pin is made with white brass.

I ordered shawl pin to send a dear friend of ours who lives in New Zealand for Christmas with a shawl I'm going to be making. It's absolutely gorgeous. I would also have loved to get one of the dragon fly if they were to be available later
