90 Varas is a yarn collection inspired by Spain’s centuries-old tradition of transhumance—the seasonal movement of flocks across the countryside—and the iconic Merino sheep at the heart of that story.

Recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, transhumance links changing seasons, diverse landscapes, and generations of shepherding wisdom. Each year, sheep travel along ancient “royal drove roads,” pathways that still reflect a beautifully balanced, sustainable way of grazing and living in harmony with the land.

The name 90 Varas refers to the traditional width of these historic routes—about 75 meters—wide enough to welcome entire flocks as they journey across the country. Today, these drove roads stretch more than 125,000 kilometers and cover nearly 1% of Spain’s territory, serving as a living reminder of the connection between people, animals, and the natural world.
