JUL Designs was founded in 2007 by Laura Bellows — a cultural anthropologist whose field research in Bali became the foundation for a creative partnership with Balinese designer Agus Astradhi. Every piece is handmade by Indonesian metal artisans who set their own prices and work as true collaborators.
The JUL Button Sets — three white brass buttons in a reusable tin with a leather shawl strap — slip between your stitches without permanently altering your knitting. The JUL Brooch is cast from real lace through an electroplating process Laura herself developed, with smooth edges designed to protect fiber.
