Soft, strong, and washable, Rios is our workhorse yarn. This 4-ply superwash merino is lovely for frequently worn sweaters and clothes for little ones, with plies that help resist pilling.
It’s the kind of yarn you reach for when you want something soft enough to love and practical enough to wear again and again.

Gauge: 18–22 stitches per 4 inches
Care: Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat.
Color & project planning: Buy enough yarn to complete your project, as each bag is a different dye lot. Skeins can vary between bags and even within the same bag. For a more even distribution of color, work from two balls at once, alternating a few rows from each.

Malabrigo’s wool is produced by Uruguayan farms, where free-range sheep roam the hills under the care of traditional shepherds. Your existing yarn story notes that mulesing is not practiced in Uruguay.
SHIPPING
We are committed to shipping your order as quickly as possible via UPS or USPS. You can expect to receive your items within 5 - 10 days. If you have placed a PREORDER, please check the product description for delivery dates.
To pick up your order at String Theory, choose PICKUP IN STORE during checkout. Orders not picked up within 90 days will be considered legally abandoned and payment will be forfeited.
Domestic packages are shipped with an $8.95 flat rate. For orders over $100, the rate will be 10 cents(a little crazy, but true!)
We are no longer able to ship internationally.
Digital patterns will be delivered immediately for free via email with a link to download your purchase.
RETURNS
Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned for store credit within 6 months of purchase.
No returns or exchanges are available for sale items, trunk show purchases, shipping charges, preorders, or jewelry.

If String Theory cancels the class for any reason, we will refund your registration fee. If you are able to cancel at least one week prior to your scheduled class, you will receive a store credit for your registration fee. If you cancel less than a week prior to the class, you will receive store credit only if we are able to fill your spot. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide class make-ups.
String Theory Fan Club Cancellation Policy
Annual members can cancel anytime within the first 30 days for a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee. After 30 days there are no refunds on annual plans. Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time.

Perfect for knit or crochet‼️
I love using Rios for accessories - the colors are lovely and the yarn is so easy to work with. I find it a little heavy for larger items (like sweaters) but it is my go to for hats and cowls. I especially like to use it for gifts I am going to give away so it is less stress for the recipient when they need to wash or clean it.
I have not started a project with it yet but the yarn is beautiful and I can't wait to knit or crochet something with it. I'm looking for just the right pattern.

I have been using Malabrigo Rios for years and I continue to love it!! It is a pleasure to use and is also a good yarn for a good price! The colors are wonderful and don't fade. When making something (sweater, scarf, cowl, whatever - I have done them all with Rios - sometimes you should alternate skeins of the same color since the darkness/lightness can vary, but that is a small price to pay for a beautiful yarn!!
