Manos del Uruguay | Fair-Trade Artisan Yarn from Uruguay
Manos del Uruguay was founded in 1968 as a cooperative of rural Uruguayan women who needed sustainable income without leaving their communities. More than fifty years later, the model holds: artisans across Uruguay hand-spin, hand-dye, and hand-finish every skein, earning fair-trade wages that stay local.
We carry Manos because their colors are especially beautiful and their yarns have life. For knitters who want their making to mean something beyond the finished object, this is where to begin.
