By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
Harmony DK
Harmony DK starts as a pile of leftover fiber on a mill floor in Peru. Yarn Citizen founder Laura Zander watched skilled artisans sort freshly sheared wool and alpaca by hand — and saw thousands of pounds of high-quality ends headed for the trash. She asked them to spin it into something new instead. The result is Harmony DK: upcycled, earth-conscious, and beautiful.
Sourced from animals born and raised in the Peruvian highlands. Harmony DK creates beautiful shawls, garments, accessories, and more.
