By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.

Manos del Uruguay Milo*
*Part of the Manos Milo trunk show at String Theory until March 22, 2025.
No exchanges or returns are allowed for trunk show purchases.
Milo is a gorgeous simple ply merino and linen blend.
The linen's unique nature gives Milo a rustic yet elegant look, with its raw fibers and almost metallic shine. Manos uses unbleached linen and non-superwash merino for a more natural option.
We love the drape of the finished fabric and find it perfect for mid-season projects such as kerchiefs, shawls, and lightweight sweaters and tops. It's a versatile yarn that can be knit successfully at sport through DK gauges, and the tooth allows it to show off lace patterns, too!
