Newish Knitter Knitalong - February
Project: Rib-A-Roni hat by Jane Tanner
Dates: February 3, 10, 17
Time: 7:00pm - 8:00pm Central Time
Our Newish Knitter KAL is for knitters who have finished Knit 101 and Knit 102 and are wondering what to knit next. Each month we choose a different project for beginners to practice stitches you already know and add one or two more new stitches to your repertoire.
What are we making?
In February, we will make the Rib-a-roni hat.
How do I sign up?
There is no charge for the knitalong, however, we do ask you to purchase your yarn for the project at String Theory. When you purchase your supplies, leave a note in the checkout that you would like to be included in the Newish Knitter Knitalong. We will send you a Zoom link the day before the first meeting.
What yarn do I need?
We recommend two colors of Rios or Woolstok, but any worsted weight yarn will work.
What is a knitalong(KAL)?
A KAL is when several people knit the same thing at the same time. It is like a class, but much more casual. There is more encouragement than education. Liz helps you with techniques that might be new to you or reviewing things you may have forgotten. She will also have a few tips and tricks to share.
Don't worry if you can't attend all of the sessions. Just drop in when you can make it.
I'm an experienced knitter, can I join in?
This knitalong is open to all experience levels. We put it together to support people who have taken Knit 101 and Knit 102 and have been knitting for less than a year. But I imagine even some experienced knitters are a little overwhelmed by life right now would benefit from an easier project and some human interaction. Join us.
