The Wonderful World of Adjustable Projects

By Izzy Mages

There are few things as frustrating as having a beautiful skein of yarn that isn't quite enough for a shawl, or having a beautiful DK weight skein and your eye on a fingering weight pattern.

That's where adjustable patterns come in. Some of these patterns are written for any weight of yarn and have you weigh your skein before hand. They'll tell you to knit until you have a certain amount of yarn left (for example, 20 grams) to ensure you can do the bind off or border. Others are written in such a way that you just knit until you run out of yarn!

Pro Tip: cast on and bind off with a contrasting or accent color. This is a great way to add some flair to your project and you'll always win yarn chicken!

Without further ado, here are 3 great adjustable patterns!
