What to Cast On this Inauguration Day

What to Cast On this Inauguration Day

By Emily

Well, crap. This Inauguration Day really isn't going to look the way I had hoped or imagined. Although I feel fairly reassured there will be a peaceful transition of power, I, like many of us, am feeling crushed and depressed by the prospect of four more years of a Trump administration, and the chaos inevitably to follow.

And yet.

I also feel motivated, angry, even inspired to take a stand together to protect our planet and the most vulnerable among us. Instead of succumbing to despair, join me in casting something on to channel that energy and commitment into protecting the values we hold dear through the coming years.

It could be something meditative and hopeful - like Janet's The Light Gets In cowl - Or something more bold for wearing to all the protests we'll be marching in this year (I made the RESIST Hat back in 2016 and am ready to make more in 2025!). This is also the perfect time to show solidarity, and I absolutely love the LGBTQ+ Equality for Shawl. You can find my full round-up of projects to start on Inauguration Day here on Ravelry or keep scrolling to see more of my favorites.

Once you've decided, let us know if we can help you to pick the perfect yarn.
