By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
Joyful Hats Workshop (p) with Liz - December 14
This class will be held IN PERSON at String Theory Yarn Company
Date(s): December 14
Time: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Instructor: Liz
Description: Join me and take some time out for yourself for a few hours of pure joy. Joy playing with colors. Joy in creating. Joy being surrounded by friends (new and existing). And joy in just being for a moment without having any outside demands.
We will be working on either the Go Crazy Hat by Deirdre Darr or my soon to be released pattern Declutter Hat (Pattern will be included in this workshop). Both patterns use several weights of yarn held together to make a bulky weight yarn. There is no better way to declutter your stash. We will offer a 10% discount on any yarn you need to bring your hat together.
I'll have some snacks and will share my expertise on putting these very easy and fun hats together.
Supplies:
- Bring your stash yarn. About 100 grams of bulky, 25 grams of fingering and 10 grams of lace. For my hats I held together 2 strands of DK weight yarn with one skein of mohair. There are so many options! Bring your yarn and we'll go over what to pair together to get the right weight.
- US 10, 16" circular needles or needles you use to knit in the round for a hat.
- Optional: pom pom maker
Homework: Purchase the Go Crazy Hat if that's the one you want to knit.
Go Crazy Hat - lavender/grey
Declutter Hat - blue/gold
