Instructor: Liz Daly

Description:

My name is Liz Daly and I host the Newish Knitter KAL (NKKAL) the first 3 Wednesdays of every month.  This KAL started back in 2020 when we realized that we needed to connect to our customers in a different way.  The original plan was for this group to assist knitters who had completed our Knit 101 and Knit 102 classes continue knitting but it has turned into a monthly group of knitters of all levels (beginner to expert)  from across the USA who meet monthly to work on projects together which are the perfect social knitting projects.  Join us for a month or two and I guarantee you will be more confident knitter.

Our Newish Knitter KAL is for knitters who have finished Knit 101 and Knit 102 and are wondering what to knit next.  All of these patterns are great places to practice your stitches and learn how to read patterns.  This KAL is also for more experienced knitters who want to socialize with others while knitting a project where you can knit and chat at the same time.

In December, we're continuing with the Hipster theme and knitting the Hipster shawl.  Now do not fret when you purchase the pattern and see the chart - we're considering the chart to be optional for December.   You can choose your own yarn wool or cotton as suggested below.  I'm using mine as a pop of color in these winter months.

There is no charge for this virtual get-together, however, we ask that you purchase yarn from the store for this project.    When you purchase your yarn write in the comments section that you would like to be added to the KAL!   Don't worry if you can't make all of the sessions.  We'd love to have you when you can make it.

Supplies:

Homework: Have your yarn and needles ready.

Prerequisites: Be comfortable knitting and purling.

Your yarn makes a positive impact

By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
