By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.

We started a virtual Sit&Knit during the pandemic so we could bring the people together who used to hang out at our table. However, this friendly group has grown to include knitters (and crocheters) from all over the country.
Bring your project and hang out with us! Everyone is welcome.
Beth will be hosting and available to answer any project questions you might have.

This is an excellent social time with other knitters... an opportunity to knit in a relaxed format, to ask questions, to see what others are doing, and to visit. Thank you Beth!
Fun, and I learn a lot.
I live in Wheeling. I used to go to another knit shop close by. A friend told me about your knit shop and I'm so happy with the friendliness and the "down to earth" attitude I felt the three times that I've been there since the beginning of October. Although I haven't attended the virtual knitting/help with projects with Beth on Saturday afternoons, I had to go in and Emily was a BIG help. It was the middle of the day and there was no one there, so I was able to get some help and purchase some yarn for my next few projects.
Weekly comeraderie, with Beth offering helpful suggestions every time. Judgement free zone, "safe for all levels"! And the cost?...just purchase your project at String Theory. It's a no brainer!!
The weekly Sit and Knit with Beth is a relaxing opportunity to be with other knitters, sharing our projects, chatting, and receiving guidance from Beth. Beth often remembers the yarns we have purchased and the projects we have worked on, sometimes when we don't even remember! People join from all over the country, so we are able to talk to the women with whom we used to sit around the table at String Theory, and to women from Alaska to Florida. If you have the time, sit and relax with us on Saturday afternoons. Thank you Beth!
