Janet's Colombian 'Good Coffee'

$26.00
- +

12oz bag whole bean
100% single-origin Arabica coffee grown on Janet's farm in Colombia

Good Coffee is a medium-roasted blend of Tabi and Geisha coffee beans. These varieties are among the most prized(and delicious) in the world of coffee.

Tasting Notes: Chocolate, Passion Fruit, and a bit of Spice

Impact:
Good Coffee tastes good and does good, improving the lives of our community in Colombia. The coffee beans are grown on our farm in Colombia which provides fair wages and benefits to the people that work there.

The beans are roasted at a local state-of-the-art roastery and research laboratory dedicated to studying the craft of the coffee industry, located at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

Students run the day-to-day operations with oversight from the advisors. This includes everything from designing product labels to packaging coffee to holding tastings across campus. In addition, students collaborate with other departments across campus on new innovative initiatives such as the viability of utilizing coffee grounds for water filtration and engineering a vacuum pump device to remove the physical limitations from the roaster’s job.

The impact on these students is long-lasting. They leave with not only new and expanded skills and increased passion for making a difference, but also a better understanding of how to be a socially responsible leader. Students have gone on to start their own social enterprises, serve in the Peace Corps, and be leaders in their corporate community.

Great flavor

I enjoyed this coffee so much, I purchased 2 more bags immediately after my first cup. I buy my coffee from 2 local small shop roasters, which I love. Janet's coffee is just as delicious, with a slightly different flavor. Can't wait for the next roasting.

“Good” Coffee

Really it should be called “awesome” coffee but I understand not wanting to set expectations too terribly high. Better that one expects “good” and is instead delighted to have a cup of truly exceptional and delicious coffee. I usually buy a medium to dark roast Colombian coffee from Costco and wondered how Janet’s coffee would compare. It’s so much better. Rich and flavorful without a hint of bitterness. A wonderful way to jumpstart my day!
