Description: Knit 2 Socks in 1 is a two-at-a-time sock method in which you knit one long sock that you could then cut in half to create two socks. What makes this method foolproof is that lifelines (lengths of scrap yarn used to hold stitches in place) are inserted as you knit, allowing you to cut into your knitting with confidence. The socks are finished off with a peasant heel, which is an afterthought heel that uses lifelines to simplify the process. The peasant heel also doubles as the toe! The combination of these techniques creates an approachable way to knit two socks at a time! See my book here.
Supplies:
- Approximately 100 grams of yarn in your desired weight and fiber. I suggest a DK weight or a light worsted for cozy boot socks.
- Knitting needles for working small circumferences in the round, 1-2 sizes smaller than what the ball band suggests. For example if the ball band suggest US 5, then try a US 4 or 3 needle first.
- Approximately 5 yds of scrap yarn in the same weight as your working yarn
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors or Snips
- Measuring Tape
- 2 Removable Stitch Markers
Homework:
If you wish to knit with us in class, I highly recommend knitting a small swatch in your desired needle & yarn (see above). Make sure to swatch in the round and to launder your swatch as per yarn ball band instructions. After swatching, record the number of stitches in 2".

To pick up your order at String Theory, choose PICKUP IN STORE during checkout. Orders not picked up within 90 days will be considered legally abandoned and payment will be forfeited.
Domestic packages are shipped with an $8.95 flat rate. For orders over $100, the rate will be 10 cents(a little crazy, but true!)
We are no longer able to ship internationally.
Digital patterns will be delivered immediately for free via email with a link to download your purchase.
RETURNS
Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned for store credit within 6 months of purchase.
No returns or exchanges are available for sale items, trunk show purchases, shipping charges, preorders, or jewelry.

If String Theory cancels the class for any reason, we will refund your registration fee. If you are able to cancel at least one week prior to your scheduled class, you will receive a store credit for your registration fee. If you cancel less than a week prior to the class, you will receive store credit only if we are able to fill your spot. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide class make-ups.
String Theory Fan Club Cancellation Policy
Annual members can cancel anytime within the first 30 days for a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee. After 30 days there are no refunds on annual plans. Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time.
