Mitchell DK — 18-Micron Rambouillet, Naturally Dyed
Spun from 18-micron Rambouillet — one of the finest wool breeds in North America — this 2-ply, semi-worsted DK is the kind of yarn that makes you reach for it again and again. It's genuinely next-to-skin soft, and knits up with satisfying stitch definition. Whether you're creating a colorwork yoke or casting on a quick hat, Mitchell DK delivers.
What makes it truly special: every skein is hand-dyed on the Mitchell Farm using sustainably sourced plants, insect shells, and food waste. No superwash. No synthetic dyes. Just fiber that carries its story all the way from the pasture to your needles.

Your purchase puts hay in the barn.
One skein = 3.5 bales of hay for the Mitchell flock. The animals on the Mitchell Farm consume 14 bales of locally grown hay per day from October through May while the pastures rest. Every skein you buy supports the Mitchell team, the local hay grower, and a farming model built to last.
