By purchasing yarn from String Theory, you’re lifting up a number of small and female-owned businesses. We help women in Rwanda, who survived the genocide, educate a new generation. We help women in Uruguay find meaningful work without leaving their rural homes. We help a family in New Hampshire maintain a mill, a tradition spanning hundreds of years. We help restore the Patagonia Grasslands by encouraging sustainable farming.Every yarn we stock makes a positive impact.
Peace Fleece dramatically softens and fluffs up with washing and use. We actually throw finished sweaters into a cold gentle wash cycle with very good results. You can also handwash in lukewarm water.

I love this yarn! There are beautiful colors and it is a good weight - a bit heavier than Malabrigo Rios and it is not superwash, so it won't stretch out. The price is good too, which is very helpful!
I've used Peace Fleece a couple of times, and find that it makes a lovely fabric. It is minimally processed, so there is some picking out of vegetation involved, but I'm ok with that. The colors are lovely, it has a great price point, a wonderful story behind it, and it softens up with washing. I'm currently making a Ramona cardigan with it.
