We talk a lot about meditative knitting projects, but sometimes you need a challenge. This is a big project with lots to learn, and this class will provide you with all the support you need to finish. Imagine how proud you'll be when you're curled up on the couch under this beauty.
Description: This project is going to be big - and we'll be with you the entire way. We are going to knit the Vuokko Afghan together. I'm so excited. If you ask me what my favorite type of knitting is, I will instantly say lace. I love knitting lace! I will show you how to knit a successful gauge swatch, read your stitches, set up stitch markers, read the chart, blocking, and so much more. In each meeting, I will break down the part of the afghan we are working on, taking you through this pattern from beginning to end. Note: we are not scheduled to meet during the busy months of November and December, however, we will send out an email with video tips and encouragement.
The meet-ups will be recorded so you can refer to them while you are working on this afghan. We will have prizes and incentives along the way!
Who is this class for? Everyone who is comfortable with knitting and purling and wants a bit of a challenge. Believe it or not this afghan is made mostly of k2tog, ssk and psso stitches. This class is for you if you like working on a project with the encouragement of others.
Supplies: You will need to purchase the following items.

Yarn - we are suggesting Mota which the sample was made in. Order your kit here.

US 10 46" circular needle and US10 DPNs - or sized needles to get gauge.

You will need basic knitting notions in addition to the yarn.
Homework: Knit a gauge swatch prior to class - we'll send out a how-to video prior to our first meeting.
SHIPPING
We are committed to shipping your order as quickly as possible via UPS or USPS. You can expect to receive your items within 5 - 10 days. If you have placed a PREORDER, please check the product description for delivery dates.
To pick up your order at String Theory, choose PICKUP IN STORE during checkout. Orders not picked up within 90 days will be considered legally abandoned and payment will be forfeited.
Domestic packages are shipped with an $8.95 flat rate. For orders over $100, the rate will be 10 cents(a little crazy, but true!)
We are no longer able to ship internationally.
Digital patterns will be delivered immediately for free via email with a link to download your purchase.
RETURNS
Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned for store credit within 6 months of purchase.
No returns or exchanges are available for sale items, trunk show purchases, shipping charges, preorders, or jewelry.

If String Theory cancels the class for any reason, we will refund your registration fee. If you are able to cancel at least one week prior to your scheduled class, you will receive a store credit for your registration fee. If you cancel less than a week prior to the class, you will receive store credit only if we are able to fill your spot. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide class make-ups.
String Theory Fan Club Cancellation Policy
Annual members can cancel anytime within the first 30 days for a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee. After 30 days there are no refunds on annual plans. Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time.
