Chicago Yarn Crawl 2020
How to Participate
This year you have the option of participating either virtually or in person (as you follow the Safe Crawl Guidelines).
How it will work
Passports - We will not be collecting “stamps” this year. However, once the Crawl begins you will be able to download a passport with all the store addresses and hours.
Buttons - If you stop by String Theory (and the other stores, too), you will be able to collect our 2020 Crawl button. If you are participating virtually, you might want to consider buying a Button Bundle, that includes all the shop buttons. This will be available on the Chicago Yarn Crawl site.
String Theory Events
Sunday July 26 at 1pm (CT) Meet the Makers - Zoom chat
Sign up here to make sure that you get the announcement with the Zoom link. We will be chatting with Ann Weaver and Karida Collins about the beginnings of Plied and all the cool things you can make with it. This is a free event.
Monday July 27 at 7 - 8:30pm (CT) Intro to Braids
with Ann Weaver
Register now to learn how to make a Latvian Braid with a variation or two. Ann will provide instructions and lots of inspiration. This is a hands-on class, held virtually via Zoom. Click here to learn more.
Sunday August 2 at 12pm (CT) Facebook Live
Join String Theory for a special Yarn Crawl edition of our Facebook Live! We'll highlight our store pattern and show off other goodies that we have in the store. There will be a prize drawing during the Live - so be sure to tune in!
Yarn Crawl Events - Every store will be hosting virtual events throughout the crawl. So mark your calendars and don’t miss out! Check out the event calendar!
Yarn Crawl Discount - During your visit, each shop will offer 10% off all yarn(excluding sale items). You will have the option to forego the discount (and help us out) in exchange for an extra ticket for our prize drawing.
Free Pattern - Each shop will have a free original pattern available for crawlers. These will be available in-store and online.
